Description
This fact is known to all who works in education that qualitative research has its own importance, spaceand value in the domain of educational research. But over a period of time the very nature of qualitative research has been taken over by universalistic scientific methods and we try to prove the concerns of social domain same way in qualitative research as we do in quantitative research, which somehow dismiss the very nature and essence of qualitative research. The need is to understand the nature of domain (where research is to be conducted) whether that is subjective or objective, humane or physical, universal or contextual and the nature of research methods, traditions and practices we use to explore further in the selected domain. The consistency between the nature of domain and research tradition and methods used is essential for a meaningful contribution to the discourse of education, so that social concerns can be addressed adequately.
