An Optimist’s Journey in Teacher Education

In March 2014, my daughter Deepti and one of her good friends, Prof. A.R. Vasavi, visited me and spent a day with me. Prof. Vasavi was interested in knowing more about the two institutions with which I have been involved: The Central Institute of Education, University of Delhi, where I worked and grew professionally for about 40 years; and, the Dayalbagh Educational Institute DEI (A Deemed University) with which I have been associated closely since retirement, when I came and settled down in Dayalbagh (Agra). She suggested that I should write my life story, which seemed to her very interesting both personally and professionally, with respect to my growth and development as an educationist, and my contributions to the two esteemed institutions mentioned above.
