It would be tragic if this beautiful experience of life is shortened by HIV/AIDS, when its prevention is within one’s control, though not the cure. The Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome commonly known as AIDS is caused by the Human Immuno Deficiency Virus (HIV), which completely breaks down the immune system of a body to combat infections, even the commonest ones. The present study was undertaken for a group of HIV/AIDS patients from two districts of Uttar Pradesh (Agra and Aligarh) with a broad objective to create awareness about their social and psychological aspects.
